| "Wabi's Ear/Rosebud Ear" Mixed media: graphite and watercolor on paper Xan Blackburn previous back to portrait gallery next This study of my own greyhound Wabi's ear was an almost transcendental experience. I did this for the Greyhounds in Art Show at the annual Greyhounds Reach the Beach event in Dewey Beach, DE. It was apparently inscrutable to viewers, who saw it as many things ("a rabbit?"), but not once as an ear, to my surprise. I still have this one, and it gives me great joy, as Wabi's ears were one of her most wonderful features. |
