Here’s where we are now.  As you can see, things have been heating up!  Her brindle patch is in, the cool blues are layering up nicely.  Touches of pink are showing in the nose and eye, and the irises of her eyes are gaining depth.  Oh, and the pirate skull has a red bandana, now.

The remaining work should come together pretty quickly (I always say that, and then spend hours refining and refining!) … although I can’t say I’m looking forward to painting around all the little bone shapes on the bonnet!  😛

Can I just say, I really LOVE painting with this medium.  It’s a little persnickity, but it just creates such depth, in such a magical way.  I love seeing it build with subtlety into crystal, light-filled reality.
